The New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) has been the voice of the legal profession in New York state for more than 140 years.

Ten Zoom Lessons Learned From “I Am Not A Cat”

Many of us are a few clicks away from appearing in court as a cat. Virtual meetings and court conferences are here to stay. Join your colleagues for a free, fast-paced program to learn how to zoom like a pro and improve your webcam set-up. Apply lessons from cinematographers, YouTubers, online gamers, news anchors, and professional make-up artists of color to level up your Zoom game.

"I'm not a cat" is an eminently teachable moment. Elisabeth Steele Hutchison will give us ten practical tips for improving the audio and video quality of our on-camera presentations, and help us build a working knowledge of lighting, camera settings, filters (meow), and backgrounds.

Elisabeth is a faculty member and the director of admissions at the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Elisabeth chaired the Law School’s COVID Task-Force Subcommittee on Online Instruction Readiness in 2020. She developed a passion for helping her colleagues teach and present on (web)camera.

A  graduate of Carleton College and the Yale Law School, she has provided training to legal professionals and those involved in higher education since the pandemic began through her company, Work from Home University, LLC. Elisabeth previously worked in the White House and at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Don’t miss this special presentation for NYSBA members.
